Turns out that with this massive influx of new users onto the fediverse, my habit of following everyone who looked like I knew them from way-back-when backfired massively, in that now I would have to spend 24 hours reading my timeline. So I guess I have to start sorting accounts into lists and not read my raw timeline anymore to preserve my sanity (and family, and job)
